Suspended Elective Ankle Surgery

April 29, 2020 | By: Nate Lazenga

We are in unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt our daily lives, both personally and professionally. At TayCo Brace, we remain committed to serving our customers through this challenging time and beyond.

Many physicians have had to postpone elective surgery and office visits to reduce the risk of the virus. As a result of this postponement, many patients will suffer deconditioning with cumbersome walking boots or live with a painful injury that would otherwise be treated with surgery. The TayCo External Ankle Brace can give patients additional support and mobility while they are waiting for their elective surgeries to be rescheduled.

A list of injuries that could be treated with the TayCo may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Operative or Nonoperative Fractures
  2. Grade 3 sprains
  3. Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD)
  4. Charcot
  5. Other mid and hindfoot injuries

As surgery centers and hospitals begin to reopen, there will be a large backlog of patients requiring ankle procedures and waiting times can be extended for many patients. The TayCo Ankle Brace is a great option to offer relief, comfort, and stability to those suffering with ankle problems.
