Medical Professional FAQs

From Acute vs. Custom usage to documentation, find the answers to your TayCo Brace questions.

The Acute Brace is intended for acute injuries, where the estimated recovery time is less than six (6) months. However, if the patient has moderate to severe foot or ankle deformity, a custom brace from a cast is recommended.
The Custom Brace is intended for chronic problems, where the the patient will use the brace for more than six (6) months.

To custom fit the TayCo Brace to a patient’s unique physiology, you must simply bend, mold, or trim the brace. Watch the video for simple instructions.

We recommend use with a rigid or semi-rigid standard walking/jogging shoe, work boot, or diabetic shoe. Using a custom orthotic in the shoe may be recommended for additional arch and foot support

TayCo can be used for a wide range of diagnoses involving the ankle, hindfoot, and midfoot. The most common are ankle sprains, stable fractures, and operative fractures, along with various forms of chronic instability. Read all of our treatment protocols here.
